Name the source, sampling interval, unit, clock, device identifier, and conditions that make a reading invalid. Vehicle buses, add-on sensors, and driver applications can report different versions of the same fact.

Edge buffering needs a retention limit and ordering rule. A connected dashboard can still show stale data if uploads resume out of order after a coverage gap.

Follow data into a decision

Document transport security, device authentication, normalization, deduplication, storage, and alert evaluation. Then identify the person or system expected to act and the evidence they receive.

Measure end-to-end age, not only message arrival. A fast pipeline carrying an old location is not real-time operations.
